The ApplianX Gateway for Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 is a ''basic hybrid'' gateway. In addition to supporting a range of worldwide protocols, being easy to install and configure and offering high availability, the ApplianX Gateway incorporates Microsoft''s Mediation Server software in a single appliance.

Combining two Office Communications Server 2007 solution elements into just one ApplianX Gateway can significantly lower the total cost of ownership, as fewer separate components are required. The Mediation Server software supports high quality VoIP and security features for Office Communications Server 2007, acting as a back to back user agent with media relay/transcoding capabilities.

The ApplianX Gateway is an easy to deploy, standards-based TDM-to-SIP gateway, which has been specifically designed to allow enterprises to take full advantage of Office Communications Server 2007 in a mixed TDM and IP environment – every user screen is customised and easy to use.

Telephone Network Interfaces

On the PSTN side, the ApplianX Gateway provides 2 or 4 universal T1/E1 (USA, Japan, Europe and worldwide) interfaces, with a wide range of per-circuit selectable signalling protocols, including PRI/ISDN types, T1 robbed bit and E1 CAS, R1 and R2, plus many other PSTN and PBX inter-working protocols, such as Q.SIG and DPNSS.

IP Interfaces

On the IP side, the ApplianX Gateway provides dualredundant traffic interfaces for SIP signalling and RTP voice. The IP side connects directly to the Office Communications Server 2007, with support for Microsoft''s RTAudio codec and security features.

Comprehensive Management

A private (non-traffic) Ethernet port gives access to the integral HTTP server and provides an HTML web browser interface with separate password protected access levels to allow configuration, administration, traffic monitoring and diagnosis.
