This wireless DECT headset is also GAP compatible and connects to both desk phones and softphones. The SD Pro 2 gives your workers limited mobility within an office setting: up to 180 feet. As long as there is a direct line of site from the SD Pro 2 headset to it's base, the wireless range can extend up to as much as 590 feet. This Sennheiser headset can do a quick charge in 20 minutes to regain 50% battery life, or in the span of an hour long lunch the SD PRO 2 can charge 100%.

I have two questions for you:
As a softphone it connects using a USB or does it need another item not included in the box (switcher/amplifier)?
While connected as a softphone, can you answer the phone away from your desk?
