What is Unified Communications?

Unified Communications (UC) is defined as the process in which all means of communication, communication devices and media are integrated, allowing users to be in touch with anyone, wherever they are, and in real time.

UC allows an individual to send a message in one medium and receive the same communication on another medium. For example, a user can receive a voicemail message and can choose to access it through email or any phone. The sender’s status can be seen through presence information, and if online a response can be sent immediately through chat message or video call.

The objective of Unified Communications is to optimize business procedures and boost human communications by simplifying processes.
